How Long Is Too Long?
I never did leave, but I abandoned myself.
I abandoned my voice:
I left my narrative
I stemmed the flow of reason
I stammered at the edge of certainty
I halted
I forgot, what I was
meant to say
I was going to say
the things that would
could hurt you but really
wound
me;
I never did leave, but my mind
Wandered, and left your side
I am here, realising
that that I never did leave as I turn to kiss you and realise I may have missed my forever, but
you are
always
my
Now.
